Cal Poly SLO IB Recognition

IB exams are passed by earning a score of 5,6 or 7 at Higher Level. They receive a Credit (CR) grade and are not calculated in the GPA.
A maximum of eight (8) quarter units are earned; when credit and units are earned for a specific course(s), the excess unit(s) count as electives. Standard level IB exams are non-baccalaureate level and do not earn degree credit.

Cal Poly GE Areas and numbers are listed and are different from CSU GE Areas and numbers. Credit extension is reviewed and adjusted when exam content and/or Cal Poly courses change.
IB exam results can be requested from IB North America by email -; phone - (212)696-4464; or fax - (212) 889-9242

NOTE: The IB Diploma shall be considered in lieu of a high school diploma for admission to the University. Transcripts are required to award credit.
* If credit is granted for one of these courses, refer to the current CalPoly catalog before enrolling in any other class listed: it may repeat content and thus not receive degree applicable credit.
